Teenage girl struck by car, killed, at a soccer game

A tragic accident took place at a Maryland middle school soccer field where a teenage girl was run down by a Ford Focus and killed. The woman behind the wheel of the Ford, age 33, was driving through a parking lot behind the school when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle and left the parking lot, striking the 13-year-old girl and one other woman after first hitting a sign and then a tree.
